Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Compliance and Audit Specialist with a background in the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will ensure that all operations, transactions, and business practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role also involves conducting audits to evaluate operational efficiency, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance:
- – Monitor and interpret real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards, including zoning laws, property transactions, and tenancy regulations.
- – Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing real estate activities.
- – Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to the real estate industry.
2. Audit Management:
- – Plan and execute internal audits of real estate transactions, contracts, and operational processes.
- – Review financial records, property management systems, and operational reports to identify risks or discrepancies.
- – Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings and recommending corrective actions.
3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- – Identify compliance risks related to real estate transactions, acquisitions, leases, and development projects.
- – Implement controls to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
- – Conduct investigations into compliance violations and work with teams to resolve issues.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- – Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations.
- – Prepare and submit reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- – Track and manage deadlines for permits, licenses, certifications, and regulatory filings.
5. Training and Development:
- – Provide training to employees and stakeholders on compliance policies, regulatory changes, and audit best practices.
- – Foster a culture of compliance and integrity across the organization.
6. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- – Work closely with legal counsel, property managers, real estate agents, and other departments to address compliance and audit requirements.
- – Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth compliance processes.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- – Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field.
- – Minimum 03 years of experience in compliance and audit, with a focus on the real estate industry.
- – Strong knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- – Proficiency in audit tools, compliance management systems, and real estate software.
- – Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- – Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex regulations and audit findings effectively.
- – High ethical standards and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- – Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or real estate-specific credentials.
- – Experience with anti-money laundering (AML) compliance in real estate transactions.
- – Knowledge of environmental compliance and zoning laws.
- – Candidates with UAE experience, is a MUST
